    Spare Tire and Jack

Does anyone carry a spare tire and if so how/where mounted?
Also, does anyone carry a jack and if so what kind/size?
As you might guess, our weekend trip ended badly with a tire having a lug ripped from the top edge of the tire (irrepairable). Don't know that I really want to carry either but am curious. Even with a more normal puncture that could be repaired with a plug, it would seem that at least a jack would make the job much easier.

    Re: Spare Tire and Jack

I carry a 36" highlift jack and a huge patch kit. I do have two spare tires but have yet to buy rims for them so I could take one as a spare. The jack comes in hand for recovery operations when someone gets stuck. I have a 48" one as well but find the 36" to be a better choice for the bike.

    Thanks
Do you have/need/desire/recommend any of the many accessories that are available with the jack based on your experience? Is yours mounted (if so, where/how) or just carried loosely? Covered/uncovered? etc.
Geez - these jacks and the various accessories are not free either are they

    Re: Spare Tire and Jack

I strap my jack between my storage tub and the back of the box. Nothing fancy but it is there when I need it. I never bought any of the accessorys but I do carry a piece of 3/4" x 12" x16" plywood to act as a base in soft ground. I also have a 20' length of 5/16" tow chain and a heavy recovery strap but have never used either with the jack but I could if need be.

I do have the rubber holder that keeps the handle from flopping around.

    Tough Bumpers

Does anyone know of a company that makes rugged bumpers for BR? My friend bought the grill guard from Hondaline and it not quite sturdy enough. Not a bad product, just want something more rugged... Sorry, new to forum, posted in wrong area.

    Re: Spare Tire and Jack

I have a spare tire carrier for a 2009 Honda Big Red. It is made be a company called EZTSK and it fits in the receiver hitch. It works very well.

I can provide a picture if interested or you may call me at 901-351-1584. I paid $130.00, will take $70.00 plus shipping. Thanks.
