From what I see in the service manual...you pull the inside joint first and work from that end. Both front and rears.

i used a 1 3/16 socket and pulled the hub off.i have the axle out and got it at the local axle shop.he is trying to find parts to repair it.it was very simple to pull.i am not quite understanding what you are talking about pulling inside joint first.

The half shaft is disassembled from the inner joint first. You should be able to just buy the boot from Honda but because you have to take the inner joint apart to get to the outer boot Honda will most likely sell you a set of inner and outer boots (and maybe grease).

    Re: hub nut

I've never done an ATV or UTV half shaft but with cars the outer joint usually means a new axle while the inner joint can be repaired.

    Re: hub nut

According to the service manual you can fix either joint (inner or outter). In the manual it says to pull the inside joint out then the outside just slips out of the hub at wheel. Then you pull the inside joint apart undo the bands on the outside boot, remove grease inspect cv joint if it's all good then you put a boot and bands on the shaft, then put inside boot and bands on shaft then reassemble inside joint, slide outside shaft end back into hub then push the inside joint back in, regrease both joints and put boots back on. As for a entire shaft and joints....try here...REAR KNUCKLE REAR DRIVESHAFT DIAGRAM for the 2009 & 2010 Honda Big Red MUV700 OEM original Parts Diagrams
