    first real ride

Got my red 500 about a month and a half ago. Didn't have a trailer so was borrowing one and rode only twice at a friends leased land. Nothing fancy. A closed golf course
Bought a 16' trailer and went to Uhwarrie today and rode for hours.
Machine handled great on some of the difficult trails there. I wasn't going to break any speed records but how fast can you go in the forest anyway?
It was my 18 yo son, 5'11", 170lbs and me 5'11" 210 lbs. Not a single issue climbing steep hills with big ol rocks, kicking up mud and jumping the 3' humps ( can't remember what they are called) Paddle shifter was awesome

    Very happy with my purchase!!!!

Plenty of ATVs, Razrs and Jeeps there. Was the only pioneer

    Re: first real ride

cool bro. I bought a pioneer 500 too. Have taken it out twice now. Great machine very impressed. I will be going riding today with a passegner. I noticed i had to down shift from 5 to 4 when climbling steep hills. This side by side excells in the tight trials and breaking new trials. My complaint is top speed could have been higher and very little stock udercariage protection.

    Re: first real ride

The down shifting isn't a problem for me and its what I would expect on any machine. As for power, you would have to jump up to the $10k+ category for more power.
