    Re: METAL ROOF

When i wanted a metal roof for my BR last year I could not find one anywhere and the ones made out of fiberglass or plastic or whatever they are were just too expensive and was not what I wanted. Personally, I went to a local Metal store and bought a 4' x 8' sheet of alum diamond plate. It cost around $150. From there I took a large piece of cardboard and cut & chaped it to my specs. Since I was going to have a lot of diamond plate left over, I also made an upper stereo console to mount on the underside. this was also made from cardboard templates. The metal worker charged me $100 to cut and weld the roof and the console. I drilled the holes and mounted and wired everything. Still with a lot of left over diamond plate, I started to cut pieces with jig saw and installed in various places (see my pics). Ran out of ideas and still have some left.

    Just an idea.

I am doing the something with mine. I used plywood to make the roof and plywood strips zip tied together to figure out the rear window.

Yep, was looking through some sites and came across this one. UTV Roofs for the Honda Big Red - DiamondBack UTV Accessories. They look pretty good.

I have the roof from Diamondback UTV accessories and it worked out great. I had mine LineXed on both sides as well.

If you happened to be in the Houston area, I have a friend making me a top out of aluminum. He makes them for all the side by sides.

    Re: METAL ROOF

Can't remember price exactly. Approx $300. Would be a bit cheaper without the lineX. A fair chunk of change but much better then the Honda plastic roof.

    Re: METAL ROOF

Maximum Welding in Gander, NL, Canada made the windshield for me. They can fabricate just about anything you need.

I'm in Gander a fair bit for work. May have to drop in next time I'm out that way. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking.

My windshield was the first (and only I believe) that he has made for the Big Red. He has made several windshields for other UTV's. You will have to call him for pricing.

    Re: METAL ROOF

That's the best looking windshield I have seen yet. I saved the pictures so I can hopefully find someone here in Ontario that can replicate it. Thanks

    Re: METAL ROOF

I have a metal roof and it is sweet the bad thing is it vibrates so u have to put rubber in between roof and roll bars. the thing i love the most is i can put pretty much anything on it weather its magnetic or u can tac weld things to it, lights are more solid also if u could manage to tip your machine over its not going to brake like plastic also its paintable like in winter u paint it black on top in summer paint it white.
