    New guy here

Thinking about buying a new big red here soon either new or slightly used.
is there anything i should look out for?

I do plan on putting wheels&tires, power steering, possibly a winch, and some lights on it asap!
But i do have a concern i know the bigred has a 680 motor in it but im worried it will not be enough power is there anything you can do to make it a little more powerfull?

i have a 2011 big red i bought it for the durability and it had transmission not a belt. If your looking for power you should consider a can am commander.

    Re: New guy here

I just watched a video of a Big Red pulling a trailer with 6 1000# round bales out of a field and to the barn to be unloaded. That's enough power for me but then I'm looking for a working machine more than anything else.

saw the same video.... wouldn't suggest using that as a guage. it does well for multi use though.

I assumed that was a little extreme but it should do a great job hauling some feed buckets or fence posts and towing my little auger.

    Re: New guy here

I'll echo what was previously said. The drivetrain is a 3 speed honda civic transmission and the engine is tuned for durability and longevity. I have sunk mine in a rice field and resurrected it. If it's real value in a hard working rig you're looking for then you've found the right bike but don't expect to get hp or ft/lbs figures over any of the other side x sides thats not what it's built for.
