    Exhaust questions

Does anyone know what the decibel rating of the stock muffler is? I am wanting to buy a big gun evo but I don't want it to be super loud compared to the stock.

    Re: Exhaust questions

I have the big gun evo and its a heck of a difference with sound level being higher than stock i also have a full cab so i think its louder cuz of that i wear ear plugs and I'm 24 lol the power gains out weigh the loudness for me keep the old one for hunting season.

good to know thanks for the info. BIGBONVI how do you like the swamp series pipe? For both the big gun and the swamp series are the power gains very noticeable?

    Re: Exhaust questions

get a fmf powerline for an 05 polaris ranger 700 and get the local muffler shop to adapt it for you. even with labor it will be cheaper than the big gun, quieter and its an all stainless muffler.

    Re: Exhaust questions

yea, i run it. another guy on here installed it as well. he was worried about it being too loud, but agreed that it is reasonable.

dont get the big gun exhaust. when i had one, my riding buddies always put me at the back due to extreme volume. it was so loud that at speed it would drown out all other sound when in the cab. yea it sucked!

    Re: Exhaust questions

Just install the FMF PowerLine on my BR. It's just a little bit louder than stock and I do not like loud pipes. I have a aftermarket air filter, snorkeled and the pipe. It gave the BR a little more ump. Someday, someday, someday the PC-V will be installed too...................

    Omg the holy grail!

Fmf made them for a short period and stopped production due to lack of sales volume. Get it now! Fmf had them listed in their catalog so companies had them for sale on eBay... but after bombing on two sales I called them directly and got the scoop.

You made my day...I bought it yesterday. Wasn't sure since I couldn't find a pic online of the same one. Looks like a quick and easy bolt on. I'm stoked to get it and give it a try. I'll be real curious to hear how loud this model is.

    Re: Exhaust questions

Mine does not have the extended tail pipe. I was debating about installing something like that on mine due to my concern the exhaust may get too hot on the tail light but the guy told me it would make it a little louder, so I said no. When I went to pick my BR up he had installed two brackets that made the pipe height lower but the same height of the rear tires, which this did not come with the pipe I bought which was for an 07 Polaris Ranger. If I knew how to upload pictures I would show you how mine looks?

    Re: Exhaust questions

yea the polaris one doesnt have that outlet extension. i only used one support bracket and kept it up high. i've been running it for quite some time now with no problems at all with heat.

still working on getting some pics.

    Re: Exhaust questions

    JM,
I am glad I listen to you. I was a little cautious cause I do not like anything loud on my buggy since I also use it to hunt with also. But now I am glad I did what I did and got the PowerLine. I believe it added a little more ump to the BR. Now someday to find a steal on a PC-V and it too will be added AND THEN I will see how the BR will stand up against my brothers new 2013 Polaris Ranger 900 Browning Edition.

    Re: Exhaust questions

I modified my stock muffler by increasing the exhaust pipe and a 3/4" hole in the plate. This was after I welded in several other 3/4" holes in the plate as it was too loud. I am very pleased with how mine sounds now, not to loud, just right.
