    My Snorkel Design

Decided to share what I came up with for my snorkel.

Ended up using 1-1/2 abs pipe. Used a rubber hose where it goes through the body. Painted the stainless clamps black for a cleaner look. Used an enginaire spin top instead of the 90 deg that most people use. I got the cap on ebay at a deal, normal preice is 50-60 bucks. I paid $12.00 for it. Total invested....$35.00

Its an enginaire pre cleaner. Pretty neat how they work. I work on heavy equipment, and see them everyday. I didn't know the company made one small enough, so I checked on it and found this one. More info... Air Precleaners | Enginaire

Can I ask you a couple of questions about it? You would have more knowledge than me on this.
    1. does it make any noise at all while it is spinning/working that you can hear? and 2. do you think it works on your BR?

ok, so you cant hear it spinning or working at all. The only thing i can tell different is the air box is just a tad louder since i removed the stock snorkel. Yes i think it will work very well, and looks good too. It doesnt really spin much at idle, as soon as you tap the throttle it spins away. I have checked two different tractors to see how fast they spin at idle, and they dont spin hardly any at idle either. Believe it or not, i dont think this mod was a must for me... I dont go very deep in the water. If water starts to come in the cab, I normally stop and back out. Here in NC we have had a wet summer for sure.

How high up does the stock snorkel go? It looks like you've had water at least to the top of the engine before.

    Re: My Snorkel Design

The stock snorkel ends right under the passenger seat. Looks like it might have gotten as deep as the seam in the gas tank. I wouldnt doubt that at all. As deep as I can say Ive been, I got my ankles wet with my feet flat on the floor board. There's alot of places to ride in my back yard if it would quit raining long enough to dry some of the paths out. I normally keep my BR pretty clean. I got lazy this time! No worries though, I treat all of the underside with wd-40, makes cleanup a snap! All except those darn weeds, they are still a pain to get out.

    Yeah that's pretty deep

What part of the country are you in that you're getting so much rain?

    Re: My Snorkel Design

I live in eastern NC. We have had alot of rain without any storms coming in too. It rained every day for almost 3 weeks in June. From the first of June to the end of July it had rained 25 inches... I dont care where you go, its gonna be wet. Finally cleared out some now though. I ride in the water for fun though!
