    Re: Hard Cab

$3600 is fair when I look at what other cab systems cost. I would look at it if I didn't buy a tractor to do my snow clearing. Now I either have to build a hard cab for my tractor or buy one.

    Re: Hard Cab

Thanks for the link. $3600 + shipping + tax is a bit hard to justify, especially for something I can't put hands on before purchasing.

    Re: Hard Cab

When you fiqure in the cost of the machine, tracks winch trailer and accessories you are at $20000.00. Add in price of hard cab with tax and transportation thats should be at least another $5500.00. For that price i think i could buy a small suzuki jeep and put tracks on it.

    Re: Hard Cab

Well, I broke down and ordered one. Should be in about a week from now. No more trouble with trailering, dust and snow I hope.
This will be my last big purchase with the big red.

    Re: Hard Cab

Okay Guys here is the poop on the hard cab. It took a week to get it here. Service is very good. It took two of us to put it together and it is a two man job. Took all morning and most of the afternoon and fits extremely well. One thing though is that the doors open very wide all the way forward and if you are not carefull the doors sit on the tracks (If you have tracks) when you sit in it the weight pushs down on the door(s) and slightly bends them so that when you close the doors the seal is not complete. It is an easy fix as you just push the metal door back into its position. The door may need a brace to rectifiy this. I do not think that you need a heater in there as we are sitting over the engine and there seems to be enough heat for me anyway comming from there. When you drive the machine the noise level seems to be about the same but I think that I will wear ear plugs on long fishing and hunting trips. I brought it to the scales and they weighed it. With tracks full tank of gas and cab the weight is 920 Kilos or 2020 lbs. I had bought a trailer for it with the gross weight as 1440 so i will have to get it upped to 2500 lbs.
Towing it has shown no problems with trailering which was my major concern.
I got a windshield wiper with it and it is a single blade which has two speeds and covers the drivers side and part of the passenger side. I was concerned about the wiper blades ripping of from over hanging trees however the hard roof conceals and protect the blade pretty well.
Over all I would give this set up a 9 out of 10

    Re: Hard Cab

Good to here you got it installed. Now you have to do a long term test on it and let us know how it works out.

Thanks JungleCat! Your comments are duly noted. Keep us posted on developing issues, rattles or finish problems... they took my test rig away!

Regarding the AC system, we're looking into it. Although it's hard to get into that frame of mind when it's around -10F!

    Re: Hard Cab

New here. Decided its time for a cab. Of course its on the cusp of spring but alot more snow yet to come. I saw a dfk hard cab on a dealers machine. Not a bad concept but i think i like the lloydminster honda cab better. Hows the ventilation on a hot day like. On the dfk cab, the doors could be removed and the windshield tilted up a good bit with struts. The doors also had sliding windows in them.
