    Chain Tools?

I would like to get some tools to split and rivet a 525 chain. Anybody got any suggestions?

    Re: Chain Tools?

I bought one of the cheap ones off ebay. It works ok, but if I was gonna do it again I'd get something name brand from Motion Pro, RK, etc.

Give Dan Bowen @ Street & Comp a call. He'll hook you up with the correct tool.

MotionPro makes a breaker/riveter all in one tool.

I've been very happy with the RK tool. Breaks and rivets nicely.

That item off Ebay is a Motion Pro kit. I have the same kit. 39$ is a very good buy for that item. I use a seperate chain breaker tool and just use the chain rivet tool for riveting and chain plate press. If you buy the tools you will have them down the road. In addition, you may never know when a buddy will need the use of this tool. Good long term bang for the buck .

I've bought the Pit Posse ECONOMY kit, and sincerely didn't see any difference from other more expensive kits I've used in the past.
As long as you know what you're doing, you'll be fine with one of those.
Grind the rivet head very well, and align the tool properly, I guarantee you that you can use it for many many years without a problem.
