Well I got my 05 CRF250R last week and had to wait till this past weekend to ride it in the dirt. I wasn't sure what to expect since this is my first dirtbike. After riding it two days in a row I can say that I am very happy with the baby thumper. This thing kicks azz! The thing has more then enough power for me and when you get her up in the revs she really moves. It inspires so much confidence it's not even funny. My one and only goal for day one was not to crash and before I knew it I was making decent jumps and really hitting the corners hard. I can't believe how easy this thing is to ride hard. Grabbing a handfull on semi hard pack it lofts the front 1st-3rd....what a great little bike. I let a friend, who has been riding for years in the dirt, take it for a ride. He currently has an 04 YZ450F and the smile on his face when he got off was all I needed to know I made the right choice. He was airing out some big jumps and loved how light it was and easy it was to throw around. I bought my first add on last week and put on Acerbis Flag hand guards which I am very glad I did. I have ordered my glide plate and engine guards as well as my Dr.D exhaust. Oh boy I can see this is gonna be a fun new hobby. All in all I am VERY PLEASED with my new toy and can't wait to ride it this week. The worst part of the weekend was having to get off it and come to work today...I think I have been infected and I'm happy as hell. :cycle: :freebird:

sounds like a lot of fun! I had planned on getting the CRF250x but now the CRF450x is out :idunno: I will use it for putting around on logging trails up in the rockies. So I'm not sure which to get...prolly the 250...

Thats the 1st thing I thought of when I saw that 450X too

I'll get the 450X and you can keep your 250, that would be sweet!

Yeah all the guys on Thumpertalk have be throwing all kinds of companies at me for aftermarket goodies. My Storm Cycles skid plate and engine guards will be here toady. My Dr.D pipe should be sometime next week. Radiator guards are my next purchase for sure. I'm leaning towards the Flatlands by the way :thumb: .

Good call on the skids and radiator guards. That was the first thing I did to my 4 wheeler after the first romping in the dirt. Full skids are worth their weight in gold :thumb:

The radiator guards will pay for themselves the first time if the bike goes down. The radiators are about $200.00 each.
