I'm a little taller than 5'8" and thinking about getting an Alpinestars Tech Series Back protector. Can someone give me an idea on how these back protectors are sized as far as S, M, L, etc.... I'm thinking about getting a small due to my vertically challenged self.

I'm 5' 11" and own the Large. It covers my spine completely all the way to my tailbone, which means it sticks out a bit if I'm wearing just my jacket.

I have a large and I'm around 5'8. It's a just a bit big at times if it rides up a bit. I don't wear it under a jacket. I'd go with the Med if I were you.

I'm 5'7" and use the medium... very nice fit. Don't know if you already found somewhere to buy it, but New Enough has them at a pretty good price, and they are great to deal with.

Ok so a medium for wearing under a jacket.So my question is i'm getting a A* TZ1 jacket in a 48 euro.It fits just right with some slack in it.So would i need to get a bigger size TZ1 to compensate for the Tech series back protector? Thanks

Thanks for the input guys. I've gone ahead and ordered a Medium. I've also ordered a pair of A* tech series gloves to replace my JR Speed Master gloves which had an off bike excursion a while back. Man those A* tech series gloves sure did cost a lot of money, but man they look like heavy duty protection for me the next time I decide to depart from my bike while it is in motion. Hope it doesn't come to that, but if it does I'll be a little better protected.

Personally I would stick with the 48. Leather stretches and I'm pretty sure with a back protector, you would be right in the ball park of a snug fit. However you are in the best position to make that decision.

I actually didn't have the opportunity to try on the A* gloves. However, I did consult a few folks who are "experts" in the domain of motorcycle accessories and they said that a medium would fit me well. I will say that, my JoeRockets were a tad snug when I first got them. As time went on, they became extremely loose. Hopefully the A* gloves will fit right or I'll have to return them.

I'm 6', 185lbs and have an A* TZ-1 size 38 jacket w/Teknic back protector. A 48 fit's you well?? I thought they were supposed to be tight?

Edit: Oh, 48 Euro. I'm not sure what the difference is from US.

You should be fine if you stay with the 48, especially if you have a little slack right now. I was concerned about the same thing, but it wasn't an issue. The Tech back protector actually isn't much thicker than the foam pad that comes with the jackets, but the way it's curved makes it look bigger. Don't get me wrong... it will be a little more snug than before, but nothing to worry about.
