Okay gang, what color combo would YOU choose? (I'm going to order one of these bad boys soon.)

My only question is, do I cave in to vanity and order a black suit or do I go the more practical route (cooler and more visible) and bring home the eye popping Hi-Vis suit (with red armor)?

http://www.aerostich.com/isroot/riderwearhouse/DirectPages/ROADCOLORS/color.html

Should make me pretty visible with my Numata rep skid-lid. Yeah, I've got a silver bike, but what value do you put on being seen?

TIA,

-Chain

Red fades the worst.....not a problem for some people...

Grey looks greenish.....think military...

Black is really not that much hotter than red, especially while moving....but visibility sucks....

I have had grey for a few years, but when I get another, it will be black...

If you like blue, I have a blue suit with silver ballistic accents that I think looks good. It doesn't appear to have faded in the few years I've had it.

That Hi-Viz is definitely high visibility, but I just don't think I could ride around in chartreuse :idunno: Oh, and since you asked...

Yes, Hiviz is, (subtle humor here)

It also gets dirty easy and all the smashed bugs are highly visible too! So cleaning often might be a problem if you don't want to do that.

I chose the red with black ballistics. I know it will eventually fade to pink, but I am going to replace it before you guys get the goofy emoticon out. After three years, it still looks like the original color, so I might be 70 before I have to replace it.

This post is funny for me, since I brought home a SilverWing for my wife yesterday,.. so we are looking too. She hasn't made up her mind on color yet either. I rode the scoot home in the pouring rain yesterday, and my stich kept me nice and dry. I've also had the dubious distinction of putting my stich through crash testing a few years ago, and it (and I) did well. I have one piece leathers, two piece leathers and the stich. They each do their own job well, and I alternate according to my needs. However, for a do it all suit, I cannot recommend the stich more highly.

However, color selection is difficult. I don't want to mislead anyone, the suit is worth the cost. Yet, so many color combos are available, it makes deciding hard.

Right now, Barb is leaning to the opposite of my colors. Black and red ballistics for her. I have to admit that that combo looks really good on the Aerostich site. I really don't think any color combo would be much hotter than another (by maybe a few degrees) I can tell everyone that I succumbed to heat prostration when ambient was 103F a couple years ago wearing my red stich, but I really don't think any other color would have been better. (Story...son as pillion and I were going to the AMA superbike races at BIR. Already rode an hour and then got stuck in traffic in MPLS when it was 103, radiator fan going constantly, hot as well you know... I was getting dizzy and found the next exit on the highway which happened to be the exit I take to get to my dog's allergist. [Yeah, my dog has an allergist. So you want to make something of it?] All in jest folks, except she really does have an allergist! So Dan and I rode a 1/2 mile to the vet's office and crashed on the grass in front under a tree for shade.

That stop was one of the best I ever had,...until...sniff...sniff...what smells like dog poo????

Never, ever crash in a vet's lawn. Trust me on this. They were very good about giving us cold water though.

So Chain, pick the color combos you like. I think Barb is going to go with the black and red ballistic.

In case anyone is wondering. My wife has ridden motorcycles since 1967. She's been out of the loop for the past two years because of arthritic hands. The SilverWing seems perfect for her to get back into riding, as it is an auto tranny. However, I had the darndest time riding it home because I was constantly trying to do something with my feet!

Good luck with your color decision, Chain.

I've got the grey with black ballistics. When I bought mine, I was told the grey was the least likely to fade and went that route. Red and blue will fade.

I have the red with black accents. Yes, the red fades but hasn't gone to pink yet. ;) I've had my suit 5 years and the fading isn't that bad.

I like the darker accents because those areas seem to get the dirtiest on me and the bugs blend in too.

If I was to get another suit I'd had a difficult time choosing a color but I kinda like the hi viz yellow with black accents although I usually like to color coordinate with my bike so the fashion police don't stop me. :D

Get something cooler and more practical. You'll be glad you didn't get a black suit when you're riding on a 90+ degree day in the sun.

I have the grey with silver ballistics 8 years and no fading- if I had it to do over again, I'd definitely go hi viz.
