·Got to wear the Alpinestars TECH back protector, first on the street and then on the track. Quite a bit different from my Vanson and Aerostich pieces, which I consider to be back protector 'Lite' units....
I am just over 6 foot, (46/56 suit size) so I ordered a Large. Fit was pretty good, and its fully adjustable. The length may be just a tad too long, but as long as I made sure to tuck it down low before getting on the bike, I didn't really notice it. The only time it was noticeable, was in an uphill turn where you are looking through and up at the same time. Seemed to limit my neck motion just a tad. After a few sessions, I didnt really notice it any more.
I considered trading for a medium, but I think I would rather have the extra protection of the longer one.....still if it was just an inch shorter, I think it would be about perfect.
It seems to be a well made piece of gear....some flexibility, yet rigid protection. Great fit, quality materials and reasonable price.
Probably best to defer to the racer dudes in here for opinions concerning its protection merits.....
