I am currently considering the Firstgear Venom for hot weather riding. The A* leather is getting a little warm.

Anyone have experience with this jacket or can anyone suggest a comparable piece of gear with a price of around 100.00?

I have an A* T-Stunt airflo. I paid a little more ($170) for it but I liked it because it didn't feel extra flimsy like others :cough:joe rocket:cough: I was sweating balls in it today but it was mid 90s with humidity above 60%.

Today I saw a Mossi mesh jacket, seemed very well made. didn't check the price though. Also saw a new JR that looked to be a lot better than the old mesh one of theirs.

where in SE Mass are you?

Beleive it or not the rocket coats hold up pretty well in a crash, a friend of mine was down in his at about 130 km/h and he had minor rash in comparison to how hard he went down.

The come across as flimsy but they are comfy and hold up pretty well for what they are. :idunno: closer to your $ range too

Best mesh is none. Take your $100 and buy several cases of bottled water.

By a cheap perforated leather jacket if you want also.

I've been down at 50 MPH in flannel and jeans with only a tiny raspberry for my sins. I know people that have been down on the freeway with no gear and without injury. This does not prove human skin is good crash protection.

sorry to hear about your cousin.

see what Pilgrim Powersports has (I've never been there so I don't know what they have for inventory).

I ride down your way every so often. best riding within a short distance so I usually go after work.

Or save your hundred bucks, sweat a bit, and preserve your skin.

I have a size M Joe Rocket Alter-Ego I'll sell you for $85. Black. I crashed in it, but it was not in "mesh" form. (panels were zipped on) So there's a bit of damage on the right sleeve, but if you're using it as a mesh you'd take that part off anyway.

Pretty decent coat, I think.

Appreciate it, but I don't think a M would fit.

Forget mesh, go at least leather. I bought one, and wear it everyday, I'm VERY VERY happy with mine.
Teknic Chicane Leather Motorcycle Jacket

The only thing is the collar chafes a bit new, I rubbed some leather wax all over the jacket, including collar, and it helps.

For $169 US, you can't go wrong, and it's well made. WAY more crash worthy than any mesh.

I have Fleidsheer MachII I like it alot. Mail ordered from Brockton in Ma.

I think I said in another thread he should head over to Brockton Cycle. from Plymouth take 44 west to 495N (or just go all the way too 24N) to 24N to exit 16, rt 106e (right off the exit). left onto Rt28 north, it'll be on your right hand side right at the town line.

or the scenic ride, 106 west to 28n

I bought a really nice Fieldsheer textile for under $100 at Brockton about a month ago and they had quite a few jackets available.

I'll never go back after I got my SPIDI mesh leather jacket... can't beat getting a $500 jacket for a 100 bucks on closeout either :)

I used to have a JR mesh jacket. It was ok, and I would get one again if I needed it.

I bought a a nice summer jacket at the local Cycle Gear shop. It was their brand - MotoBoss. It seems to provide great airflow and has all of the necessary hard points covered and with built in back support. It comes with a removable liner as wall. The only deference between it and the same style JR jacket was water resistant and $20 bucks. At least that was what I was told. It works well in the hot and humid Florida weather.

T-Stunt Air-flows are good (as far as mesh goes). Leather over arms if I'm not mistaken...

I have an NJK mesh, which comes with CE armor everywhere.

When I went down in my JR, I had little rash, but hit a few places so hard, had I not the "brick shithouse" build I have, may have caused internal bleeding....thus CE armor AND a good seperate back protector - I use a Dainese.

Saw a dude on my way to work today with a white Corona leather jacket and shorts and sneakers.:rotfl: We're a little confused, with the heat and everything...

t-stunt airflo doesn't have any leather. shoulders down to elbows are textile (mesh underarms though). there is a leather t-stunt jacket though, its perforated.
