Speaking from experience with the car industry, microfiche is antiquated. The manufacturer can/is saving money by keeping it web based. A plus to this system is when a mistake is found it can be corrected and when the dealer logs back on the following day they are notified of the change. The car manufacturer I work for has been doing this for about 10 years now and it works great. Remember, if you run into a wall you can always call Honda and they will give you a part number over the phone (Just need the BR owners name and VIN number).
