Tried a pair of HEAROS earplugs the other day.....two thumbs!

Found them in the first aid section of Walmart. They are peach colored and have a 32 rating. Slightly less taper than regular foamies, and are made from the softer foam...more like the Leight ones....
They seal great and are comfortable....still get a lot of low freq, but wind noise is greatly reduced...nice tranquil ride.

Ears are so varied that people have a wide range of the plug type they prefer, these are just another option to try if you are looking for something to fit your ears a bit better.....YMMV

You can find them at Walmart, or Walgreens....and the link above lists some other online and retail options. I couldn't locate the blue ones in the store...but would like to get a pair online and try them out as well.....

I just got a set custom made by as set of doctors at Lagun Seca. WOW! I've been wearing plugs for a long time, and these are THE SHIZNIT!

Sure they are a bit more costly (at $45) but they are totally custom fit and SUPER comfortable. I wore them on a 16.5 hour blast from Monterey -> Seattle last week.

They pop in and seat. The doc said they are a rated at 29db. I don't know how they compare to the ones you speak of in that regard but they work far better than ANY generic earplug I've tried yet (I'm also a firearms instructor and I've worn A LOT of different earplugs).

This is the outfit I got them from. Next time you are at a motorsports event try to get some, or contact a local audiologis (sp?) and have some custom made.

The ones I have are washable, and they say they should last about 2 years. Sorry, I'll have to snap some pictures of them later (my camera is dead at the moment)

Upshot is the legal aspect of them. They are medical hearing devices and therefore you are protected from citation (at least in Kalifornica) for wearing them under your helmet. Sorry, I don't have the CVC for that, but they did have it (of course) posted on the booth.

Damn, I saw them at Mid-Ohio last weekend, and thought about doing it. I've heard so many bad reviews of custom plugs, that I decided against it....aaarghhh

Maybe next weekend they'll show for the AMA event as well, and I'll give it a shot....

Make sure it's a good, reputable outfit. One of the doctors in our group gave them a thumbs-up so I picked up mine the next day at the track. So far, I am VERY satisified.

I thought about getting a set while I was there too, but decided against it. I would really like to get 30+dB attenuation. The plugs I'm currently using are rated 28 dB. I think I'll try out these Hearo type plugs to see how they fit.

Do you know if you can get the custom earplugs rated at 30+ dB?

Cool, I was thinking of getting those at Laguna.
This place is just a few miles from me. I'll check them out.

SuperHEAROS are rated at 32dB. I'll try to find some. I just get the foamy ones at work. They're 29 and better than nothing. My hearing's very sensitive so >30dB would be great if I can get a custom pair made.

I love these and buy them (through work) in a 500 pair box Best plugs I have ever used, and I do have custom fitted ones. I do like the custom fitted ones for work where nothing cn interfear with them, but under a helmet, or shooting long arms, the break the 'seal' in certain positions.
