Finally Got A One-Piece Suit

On Friday my new Teknic Violator one-piece suit arrived. I got tired of waiting for my custom suit ordered back in January (a long story), and ordered an off-the-rack suit from Kneedraggers.com for a very good price.

Because I'm tall and somewhat lean, it's a little big around the middle, but very comfortable and fits well with my spine protector in place. The quality looks great - it's fully perforated and keeps me pretty cool even during Saturday's 90 degree weather. Good thing, because Pahrump will probably be pretty hot in a couple of weeks.

Kneedraggers service was great - got it to me in just a few days. I think I'll be very happy with the suit. :thumb:

Looks way too big for you...suits aren't supposed to be casual. I'd send it back and get the better fitting size for you (kneedraggers does this with no hassle).

All right! Welcome to the Power Rangers! :smilebig: j/k. It does look a tad loose on you though. I get a little 'toe' action when I stand up straight in my Spidi.... :smilebig:

A friend of mine has the Violator in a size 46 (I've got the 48) - I tried it on and it's absolutely unworkable. Torso's just too short and it doesn't fit through the shoulders at all - and that was without the spine protector. The custom suit I ordered may still arrive - this one will get me by in the meantime.

Screw that.. I'd just drink more beer. :smilebig:

BWhip - Where did you order your custom suit ?

...And are you riding the 954 at all these days, or are you still in a Ducati Daze?

I guess that's the 2004 model? Looks good.

I ordered it from a small SoCal firm called DVX Racing. It sounded like a great deal - was supposed to take 4-6 weeks, great quality, blah, blah, blah. That was back in January and I'm still waiting. Lots of excuses and promises, but still no suit. Supposedly I'm getting my deposit back in full and the suit too, but at this point I can't believe anything they tell me.

I've mostly been riding the Duc, trying to get through the break-in period (600 miles) as quickly as possible, so I can get the Termis and Power Commander on (next Monday). I'm up to about 530 miles so far, and loving it. I did ride the 954 briefly the other night just to see how much different it would feel. Two impressions - way fatter through the tank area, and what a rocket! INSTANT throttle response that was awe-inspiring by comparison.

I wish I could keep both bikes, but if I have to choose one, it's gotta be the 749 for now! Once the kids graduate college, maybe I can start collecting bikes!

Alright! 'Bout time bwhip! And a very nice looking suit, I might add, but yeah, does look a little "loose". :idunno:

P.S., is that vein about to pop?! :D J/K

I tried on a new suit and it fit snug. I tried on the next larger size and it fit like yours. The store manager said that it was too big and would bunch during a fall, causing me to tumble. I ended up buying the snug suit and it loosened up perfect. If you are over 6' tall, the off the rack suits may cramp the jewels a little too much. I am 6', so it fit fine. JM2C

Funny, Bacchus! The vein was popping because my jewels were getting "cameled" at the same time the suit was looking baggy! :hmm: When I sit on the bike the front of my neck gets choked pretty good because the length is still a little short. I hope it stretches lengthwise through the torso, but none in width! :idunno:

:rotfl: Sorry whip, I simply owed you one! I really hope the suit works out for ya, the one piece is definitely the way to go - comfortable too. However, without having the luxury of trying one on first, it is a crap shoot.

should have went with Z custom, they are from cali and have a great product and sevice.

WHAT??

I'm with immortal. That suit is too big for you.

A one piece suit should only be "comfy" when you are actually sitting on the bike. It should not be comfortable to stand around in (if you can stand up straight and comfy, it's too big). Watch people in one piece suits and they walk around like silverback apes.

My suite feels "unworkable" when I stand around. It feel like the shoulders are too small and it hikes up in the ol' jewels. When I sit on the bike, it fits like a glove.

I went through the same thing you're feeling right now. I first tried on the right size suit and it felt WAY too small. I then tried on the next size up and it fit like your does. I went back to the small one and it's served its purpose well. You need to suit to fit you tight so nothing moves around.

Maybe you pulled the trigger too soon?Ducati suit
