I'm needing some new gloves for canyon carving and occasional track day use. Trying to stay around $100 or less. Looking at the Teknic Violator Pros at Kneedraggers.com ($85). Anyone have those? Any other suggestions?

I have the Violator II's, I believe they're pretty close to the same thing. I've found them to be comfortable, good on cool mornings and hot afternoons. Protection seems very adequate. Kangaroo palm and fingers allow a lot of feel, I can even pick up a dime. Break in is pretty painless, the hide is soft and pliable. Price sounds good. Enjoy!

I currently have 2 pair of the Violator Pros. Picked up my 2nd set from newenough.com for the standard $69.

The first set has been crashed in twice (100MPH tumble in the gras, 60MPH high-side). I have been using them for a year and a half now. They are getting pretty well worn but are still holding up.

The 2nd set I bought as a backup. I am now starting to use them on the street to get them broken in.

Unless I decide to spring for some ultra expensive gloves from Held or something like that then I will probably stick with the Violator Pros. The price is right, the protection seems pretty good, and they are holding up fairly well to a lot of use.

yep, I have two pairs of the Violator Pros and they are awesome...definitely a recommended item...and NewEnough is the way to go...can't beat the price...

I think that what LTL is trying to say is, that the JR Phoenix mesh gloves would've definitely held up better

Ummmm...wasnt even close to the palm--it was past the wrist in the 'cuff'
If you recall--there was a metal bracelet under the cuff of the glove--creating a wrist against metal--against leather against asphault scenario--I think any glove would have ground through--if you have a metal wad--highspot directly under it---guarentee it would have been fine if I wasnt wearing the forementioned bracelet--which also got pretty ground up--I take it off Now-------

I fo8und it interesting that that plastic 'padding plate' actually ground down quite nicely---and I thought it was just for looks---yes the knuckles lost major blingage--gloves are still functional
