I'm Hoping someone on here can help me..I've been a mechanic for over 35 years, but I just done a quick rebuild on a friend's big red 700.(piston,rings,valves,springs )it was smoking but running fine, bit on the way to my shop it died and wouldn't start back no matter what. So I went ahead and rebuilt it..it started right up. Ran fine except from half throttle on,it would just start cutting out..I rechecked timing, changed plug again ,still same..parked it. Next day came out and it won't start. Will barely crank and backfires through the intake..I've had it apart 3 more times. Checked cam lobe wear, decompresor, timing again, changed battery, cleaned furl injector, checked fuel pump pressure..I'm at my wits end..the timing chain has some wear..8m thinking about tearing it down again to replace it..but I'm hoping someone has seen this before..it has spark, fuel, compression is 165 psi....any help will be appreciated :)
