I love my X-11 for fit, quality, lightness, lack of buffeting at high speeds, and the cool custom paint(!)Tornado bait said:Helmet Harbor gave the Shoe x-11 great review for fit, ventilation, and noise.
I now wear one of these too. Got it to replace my 2nd Arai Signet. I love the Scorpion, very comfotable, great price and quieter than my Arai's:thumb:PrplHaz4 said:I bought a Scorpion EXO-700 a few months back, and wear it EVERY day. I love it so far, and the price(~$180) is right. It fit me better than the Corsair, X-11, and RF9000. Fit and finish is great, materials look to be high quality, it's the most comfortable helmet i've used, and it has all the features of the high priced helmets (anti-fog shield is GREAT for rainy days). It's noisier than i'd like, but still more quiet than the arai.
sorry to hear about the crash, at least you're looking for a new helmet, and not a new wheelchair :thumb:maxib said:Great thread! I have to jump in and ask Prp and Joseph how the Scorpion compares to the Signet? I think I already know as both of them like it.
I have a long oval head that only works with a Signet or a Z-II. I like both, but I find limited choice in graphics often makes me wishing I could fit into a Quantum or other model.
Since I am abtech's twin (albeit much shorter and rounder in the middle) the AGV he recommended is also in the running. Frank, is there a particular model AGV you use?
Uh...I'm also in the market for a new helmet. I...uh...well...sorta boogered up my Shoei 6 weeks ago.
I have the X-Vent, although they have some upgrades. Just check out their website and look for specials once you have a chance to try one on.maxib said:Great thread! I have to jump in and ask Prp and Joseph how the Scorpion compares to the Signet? I think I already know as both of them like it.

Isn't it B'day 6 that is time to burn? (ie for a helmet of 11/00 it would have one more year being OK in year 5) I get confused on zero based thingsabtech said:I have the X-Vent, although they have some upgrades. Since my Helmet turns 5 years old this month, I will be looking as well.
According to WERA/CCS/AFM. once the helmet attains the age of 5 years, it needs to be retired. If the helmet was manufactured in 12/2000 (like mine was), then 12/2005 completes it's 5th year of existence.sheepofblue said:Isn't it B'day 6 that is time to burn? ummmm if your helmet was manufactured in 11/2000, then it has already been on this planet for 5 years. You need a new lid buddy . . .sheepofblue said:Gotcha so despite more poorly worded response I was correct in my thinking and I have one more year on the Arai :thumb:
:crap: nope but it is 03/01 so it is still dead. I really have a challenge with time keeping :Oabtech said:ummmm if your helmet was manufactured in 11/2000, then it has already been on this planet for 5 years. You need a new lid buddy . . .
