Lap Times

I noticed last night during practice that my lap times are faster then my race lap times. At first I couldn't figure out why and then the little lightbulb came on  . I push to hard in a race to go fast. In practice I'm relaxed and am pretty much just having fun. Come to think of it I didn't get arm pump at all last night either. My race times are around a 2mins 3secs lap. In practice last night I turned a bunch of sub 2 min laps. 3 secs a lap faster, man I need to calm down during racing. If I can get that relaxed in a race, oh I could soooo much better. On a side note I was having fun last night over the Camel's Back jump(60+ foot)with this one kid I see there all the time. We were tossing glances at each other over it every lap, it was fun as hell. :highclap: The more and more I ride the more comfy I get in the air. I used to tense up and freeze, now I'm starting to put input into the bike and move it around a bit.

For me it depends on traffic during a race/practice. During a race, its real easy to get "held up" by slower riders, specially those that are only a few seconds off pace. But generally, if I can get some open space lap times are a few seconds faster in a race than practice for me. I hear this is pretty common among AFMers

Sooooooo if your getting much more comfortable I want to see some pics when you cross the start/finish line doing some sort of heel clicker, seat grab or something along those lines.....a backflip would be acceptable too. :evilaugh:
