All the cop debates have me thinking what a bunch of people with opinions sooooo....

I am debating between a AlpineStars Stunt (Blue) or a Joe Rocket Speedmaster (Blue of course). I have had great input on the Speedmaster but been unable to find one to try on. The I tried a TZ-1 in the AlpineStars and the fit was decent while a T-Stunt was perfect.

Also for better input the cost will be about the same for me and I am heavy so need one a bit wide on the bottom. This is planned to be my cool/cold weather jacket, cold down here is high 40's and up (anything else sit on the couch it will be gone in a day or two).

Thanks

Well I have the speedmaster and I've been happy w/ it even in hot weather. I still sweat, but if I am moving I don't notice it. Sitting in traffic I cook. But what are you gonna do.

ND4SPD has/had the Stunt and was happy w/ it. I haven't looked at it real close, but the speedmaster for me was a lot of protection for the money. Armor and think leather. :thumb: You can't go wrong.

I am 5'8'' about 200 lbs. I have a "thick" build. Chesty like a boucer I guess. My waist is 36-37''. The jacket I bought is a 46.

I have a red/black/white Stunt jacket, size 44 in mint condition I'll sell you. I thought I had it sold, but the sale fell through and I haven't reposted the ad. I was very happy with the jacket and would buy another one in a heartbeat, however I gave up street riding(got cut off one too many times) and no longer need it. $250 delivered

Oh oh
They both said STUNT. :whisper:

Definetly get somewere to try on the JR jacket.
When I bought my Bostrom A* it fit better than the TZ-1 and way better than the S-word jacket. Even though they were all the same size.

I can only speak for the stunt. Being 5'10" 220lbs 46 chest 38 or so waist :smilebig: this jacket rocks :thumb:

I bought the red/black (preforated) and with the liner its a pretty decent temp even on cooler nights so I am sure the un pref one will be a nice cool weather jacket. The padding in the shoulders and elbows make you feel very secure b/c it is hard armor but the back pad is in need of replacement. I actually took the one out of my phoenix jacket for now b/c it feels more secure

Thanks for the sale offers but I am at least a 48 maybe a 50 if I don't thin down some.

Hmmm the great input still has me at the dilemma, Stunt probably has nice fit and removable insulation, Speedmaster has better protection it seems.

As to how I plan on using it. Road riding but I want something warmer than mesh and more protective when I am not battling heat. No commuting use purely sport riding.

The stunt seems very protective minus the back part which is easily fixed with some 3rd pary insert of maybe a back protector.

The rest of the jacket feels like it can take a serious hit. Then again I am partial now to AStars since almost all the gear I own is now by them. You really get what you pay for :thumb:

Check e-bay for jackets - ESPECIALLY if you're in the Denver area - I found a Dainese Talos IV jacket, '03 model but brand new, in the size and color I wanted, for $399 inclusive. Retails for $749 and up depending on where you shop, has a zip out liner, back vents, and fits like a glove. Check for e-bay seller dynamitedeals. And no, I don't work for 'em, I'm just a satisfied customer. . . :p

Already got a JR Blaster 2.0 so far I like it. Although instead of the liner I have used a micro fleece from REI (toasty warm)

I had a Blaster 2.0 in hand and was ready to buy, but decided to wait a week or so. . .I liked the fit of the JR, real similar fit to the Dainese. Mostly a matter of personal preference on my part, but either one is better than NO leather (although I still have my Phoenix for short trips in the summer. . .)

Decisions, decisions, decisions. . .
