Hello Everyone! I was lucky enough to get a 2018 P1000 LE a few years ago but I'm new to this forum. I really enjoy having the machine around for work and play. I do have one problem that comes up every winter. Anytime I start going thru snow more than a few inches deep the i-4WD just kicks out after a few minutes or even a few seconds. The icon on the dash changes to 2WD and usually I start spinning or even get stuck. So it is actually switching to 2WD. It will stay in 2WD until I let off the gas then it will go back to 4WD with a slight bang. Sometimes this happens every 10 minutes other times like today it happens every time I touch the gas peddle. So basically the 4WD works great unless I need it! Anybody else have this problem? Any fix to it? I've seen others suggest adjusting the 2WD/Turf mode linkage in front of the left side back tire. Mine was way off but adjusting it didn't make any difference to the 4WD issue. I've taken the machine to the dealer twice but they have no ideas on how to fix it. Lucky me:p Thanks in advance to anyone who has a suggestion for a fix.

Howdy and welcome from Northern Iowa
.
Ok, after much digging, this is what I found.
I am just going to copy and paste the whole paragraph.
.
Found this from @Hondasxs
"The Pioneer 4x4 is manually cable-operated, which means if you have it in the i-4wd you should of at least had 3wd. It will not (should not) go into 2x4 automatically from a fault.
If this did not happen, meaning you did not even have 3wd, then I would start by looking at the cabling system and adjusting that.
If you did have 3wd and are looking into why i4wd stopped, then that is electric and most likely a sensor or wire issue.
The i4wd part is computer operated. So a fault could cause loss of i4wd but as I said, 3wd should work as its manual."
.
What I get from that paragraph, is that your I4WD system is like my standard 4WD mode, but with computer controlled braking.
I made up this diagram to explain Turf and 4WD mode to someone, but I guess it will help here as well. Now I see, I need to make a new one about I4WD. haha

So, with what you said, and what he said, It sounds like you could have a cable adjustment problem.
.
Let us know what you find and how you fixed it, maybe it will help someone else.
.
.
Edit to add
In searching for your problem, I came across some things that other I4WD owners had problems with.
1) weak or low battery
2) flat front tire
3) LED light install
.
Have a good day

I think it's fixed! Tightening the "Final clutch adjusting nut" seems to have fixed the problem. It was very loose, I can see how this could get out of adjustment just from vibration. I put the lever in the 2WD drive position and turned the nut by hand as far as I could. It stopped when the joint pin was about 2mm from the end of the slot. At least for the 20 minutes of testing I did, it's working better than it ever has. I'll try to add a picture from the manual on adjusting this in case anyone else needs the procedure.

Now I'm gonna go see if I can get stuck in all this snow we have in NW Iowa. Thanks again for the help.

Glad you got it figured out.
AND thank you for posting back with your fix. Here, and the other place.
Maybe it can help someone else.

Do you still have alot of snow?
Quite a bit of ours, here in North East Iowa, melted away with that balmy 38 deg. weather we had the other day.
Man, it was almost "T" shirt weather. hahaha :)
