HondagalToo, Abtech, et al, I'm in the market for a trailer, have been looking at 6x10, 6x12, and 7x12...planning to set it up to haul two bikes...will probably build some cabinets in the nose...I'd like to see some pics from the pros...call it incentive. Thanks in advance!

Heres mine...probaly bigger than what your looking at. I was planning on going they way of that trailer in your link...by the time I had it all built up, it was about the same price as a commertial toyhauler and had less comfort items. Mines a 21'. The only problem I see with ones like the one in your link, is its impossable to sleep in there with the bikes. No big deal if all you do is weekend trips to the track, but if you ever just needed to sleep in there on the way to someplace, your going to have to unload the bikes at a rest stop or campground or something. Then leave them outside. With a normal RV toyhauler, you can always use the rear bed, and if I have to, I can unhook one bike, roll it to the rear, and use one of the side beds.

Thanks G! I'm "kind of" considering the "toybox" but I think it will be more than I'll use...I'm currently selling the motorhome I "had" to have several years ago that I never use. Good point on using the bunks with a bike or two on board....hmmmmm. Thanks again!

I was going to post a link to the pics in my thread from last year, but since you made the first reply, I would guess you have already seen the pics. I still have the motorhome, so if an "overnight" is involved, I just pull the trailer with the motorhome and it's all good (other than the fuel economy). My trailer didn't need to double as a hotel room, so I just configured it as a working garage . . .

Abtech, please post the link. I searched beforee I posted but I must have missed your thread. I am mostly concerned with setting up a trailer more effciently than finding a camper. I like the idea of the mini-kitchen/washroom but will probably go with just an "empty"trailer and configure to my needs. Just would like to see some examples of what others have done. Thanks.

That's an 8.5 by 16.

I've got a single axle 6 x 12 enclosed with 6'2" of headroom that can easily hold two bikes. I also use it to store all my gear so I can just hook up and go when I head to the track. Here's a couple of pics, courtesy of Conq at the first Fireblades event.

I'm looking, very seriously, at a 6x12 but am thinking barn doors and use a ramp for loading...might make it more versatile for non-bike usage...any opinions?

I went with the ramp door so I could ride on/off without any assistance. I also didn't want the hassle of carrying a separate (loose) ramp everywhere I went. I've used my trailer to haul furniture several times, as well as winter storage of everything, and the ramp made it very easy for loading and unloading. The only negative with the ramp door is if you don't have enough room to lower it down. I had a neighbor park right behind my trailer and I couldn't unload anything!

Well, it depends on how many of my friends Harleys are broken down cause that's where we store them, but I would say 6 bikes. Plus I gotta move all the empty Paps Blue Ribbon cans around. I park the trailer in front of the mobile estates in Rosamond so it is easy to remove.:thumb:

That's what I want. I picked up an 04 2500HD with the Duramax back in May. I've been meaning to post a few pics, but I keep forgetting. That mug has some super power and gets awesome milage. :thumb:
