It's about time to replace my Shoei XSP-II and as happy as I've been with it for the past 3 years, I'm looking for something a little different from everyone else. I know Shark is new to the US, but I've seen a few of WSB riders wearing them and I think they look pretty cool.

Anybody got one? Any feedback? Beuller?

OGK helmets have fins in the back, I think its Japanese but its cool looking and its a race helmet... I think. Most of the websites I looked like is british or japanese so good luck finding one.

I took a long, hard look at the Shark helmets at Laguna Seca, and came away thinking they looked Fugly. That huge hole in the top middle made it look too strange (like a whale spout). I was on an unlimited budget, and tried on every helmet known to man. I tried on the Arais, nice, but no cigar. I then tried on the new Shoei X11, and ta daa, a winner. I guess I have a Shoei head. The ventilation is great. I use to have that hot spot on my forehead when it got to over 90 degrees, but not anymore. At night, you need to close off some of the vents as it can get cool. A little pricey ($495), but they did not charge me tax. It can be had for less on HelmetShop. I highly recommend this helmet. It looks good too! JM2C

Walked through those same tracks ULEWZ - everything except going to Seca (although I did watch the races on TV and came to the same conclusion). A little sleuthing (including reading the reviews at Helmet Harbor) - and some trying on - and in the end, I went with the X-11 (Norick 5 scheme, since I was also on a money-no-object budget), and I'm sure I made the right choice. Definitely a Shoei head guy.

I love my Shoei too. I opted for the Kato lid. Everything is good except the strap retainer POS . I broke that plastic piece the first week. Other than than the helmet is beyond compare.

I used a quick-release jobbie like this one for my XSP-II. Might have to get one for the X-11 too, since it makes it possible to remove/don your helmet with heavy gloves on

Having looked at Shark helmets, I couldn't get past the giant hole in the head and opted for my OGK through OGK/Helmet Harbor It's incredibly comparable to my Arai in fit, it's lighter and the ventilation can't be beat for the heat in Vegas. Not a shark, but another opinion on another quality helmet.
