Are they sized the same as their street helmets? ie, if I wear a Large XSP-II, would I wear a Large VFX-R?

Are those helmets the same shape? I never though it mattered till I started trying on all brands and models. Makes a huge difference, but I'm sure you already know that.

Not sure. Haven't tried any on yet. But, it's the only Shoei dirt helmet I saw. :idunno:

As far as sizing helmets: I always try them on first. Yes, that means getting hosed at the stealer but I have ordered too many of them that ended up going back because they didn't fit.

I am not sure about HJC. I have a Thor right now that was pretty cheap and has saved my noggin many times.

I don't think having a topnotch helmet is as important when riding dirt as it is when riding street. Unless you are going racing I think an HJC would be fine.

yeah, but as LTL says "What is your head worth?" I opt for the best protection you can get. Better to have something that you don't need than to need something you don't have.

All true. I just go through a helmet a year and this year opted for a semi-cheapy Thor since I get a deal on them (a buddy is sponsored by them).

On Conqs budget I would be ordering an Arai.
