Are these sold seperately or as one? I'm looking for more protection other then helmet, gloves, and leather.

Its usualy one item that protects both. Some better than others. Some like the skinny DIanese pretty much just cover the spine, others are wider to cover more area. While I typicaly dont wear one on street rides, mine has paid for itself 100 times over when I was highsided off my racebike and landed on my tailbone/back.

I have an AS Tech which covers more than just the spine, but not the whole back. I'd say it covers about 75% of my back. I feel much comfortable with it on. I highly recommend it, and actually there's some really good pricing with the group buy.

I have a dianase one which covers about 75% of my back, I have only used it a couple of times, my only dislikes are I have to remove the impact foam from the back of my jacket to make it fit comfortably and it pushes my underwear down when I sit upright

I have a Bohn. It's big, and offers a lot of protection. I can't speak from experience (knock on wood), but I do wear it all the time. It's fairly comfortable.

I have the old style Knox Pro Race that covers the tailbone. I wear it always, street or track. It covers probably 90% of my back, wrapping around the sides too.

I have an R-jays (Aussie brand) and for $99, I think it's great piece of mind. Covers about 75% of my back, tail bone etc, and is quite comfy in riding position, and not to bad walking around.

I always use a Dainese HPC back protector.. Haven't touched down yet, but I'm pretty sure it will help minimizing damages. It is very comfy except for the hottest days when it gets very "moist" :D Doesn't smell to good...

:)
