·I was wondering which tankbag you all have found to fit the best on your bikes. I am planning riding down to key west from tampa (446 miles each way) over thanksgiving and am looking for a good tankbag.

·It all depends on your needs. Just about any tank bag will do, but only a couple will be 'perfect'. I like Marsee, myself.

·I am looking for about as perfect of a fit as you can get. I don't plan on hauling a bunch of stuff in it. Maybe a camera and some food. On the longer trips I usually wear a backpack and mail my clothes to my destination (some risk in that, but..).

·I'm liking my Joe Rocket sportbag. Zips into two halves...I leave the 'flat' half on the bike all the time...and add the upper when I need more capacity.

·I have a Chase Harper 650 magnetic tank bag and it works good. The magnets are very strong and does not move. It is molded to fit the sportbike tank very nicely. It comes with a hydration system (camel back like) that I tossed.
I did have a Chase Harper magnetic 700 but it blew off at about 120mph on the way back from YellowStone last year when I was hit with a big cross wind. I had removed the safety mount on the front because the steering damper was in the way so I paid for that. Nothing was broke inside since the wind was strong enough to carry it across the other lane and into the grass.

·I like the RKA stuff. They have several different sized tankbags. If you still have your passenger seat on, they have a really nice rearseat pack that clips to the seat, so there's no bungee straps over the plastic bodywork.
For really long trips, I use the Ventura luggage rack system.

·My 0.02 worth - tankbags suck! I like to lay down on the bike, especially during long tips, and a tankbag prohibits getting behind the windscreen (especially the larger varieties). I had a Chase Harper 650, a nice, functional bag that is a good size. Alas, it still hinders lying on the tank and moving around on the bike, as I love to do.
Unless you are carrying luggage on the back or other accessories, I recommend getting a tailbag instead. The one I bought from Conq (Rocket Locker), is an excellent piece that holds enough for a weekend getaway.
Have fun in Key West. I hear Pete has some 'buddies' down there, if you swing that way.

·I hate tank bags too; but, sometimes I run a small one, the Tour Master Mini Magnetic. Nice, big map pocket on a small, magnetic bag. I perfer tail bags as they are entirely out of the way.

Simply awesome! Will fit everything you just described and is low profile so you can crouch down if you need to. It has magnets arranged so that it goes with the downward curvature of the tank. Plus, it's a Honda product with a Honda label (like levi's) too! No unsightly magnet flaps, nylon straps, or huge size.. just what appears to be a bag sitting on your tank that will not move even with about 15lbs of school books in it. Not recommended but tested! Two exterior pockets (one foward and one right near you) for keys, wallet, etc. Also comes with a plastic cover to prevent rain from getting your stuff wet and it doubles as a map holder. I.e. You can put a map on top of the bag cover the map and bag and you can look at the map without having to get it out of your bag or pocket, unfold it, etc. Wish I didn't lose it as was sweet and can't be replaced seperately. I may have to buy another one just for the plastic cover. Has a strap/handle in the front where you can just pick it up off the tank on go on your way. Looks like your carrying a book bag. I love this bag!

·Marsee magnetic bag. It fits the shape of the 954 tank and it never moved even a millimeter on more than 900 mi.

I think this bag looks really good since it's compact, one color, and has great lines. I used it on my red/black F4i before this bike and it looked good also. Here are some pics I just took. It's dark so... I just grabbed some stuff to stick in it to show you it's capability. The peanut butter was to show how food would fit and how you can stuff things in the corners. I could have added at least 5 more mags before the bag would have reached it's limit. I've traveled with a pair or jeans, shirt, and sneakers, etc once.
