Has anyone ordered leathers from Tiger Angel before? I saw there site and got a quote but I wanted to hear from you guys on this. Are they good quality? Do they have good customer service even from a customer the U.S.? How do they fit? I'm looking for a suit for track days and on the road too, so any help would be great. :)

They're actually Tiger Angel. I have a Lynx 2 Sprint suit which I got tailormade from the money from my insurance payout. They are heavy construction and very well made. They weigh in at 5.5kg. Customer service is excellent. :thumb: I find them a bit constricting at times, especially if I wear a couple of layers underneath but they still need some breaking in I think. The fit is snug but you can specify how tight a fit you would like. If you want to wear warm clothes underneath I'd specify loose. Here's a pic when they were new. Matching bike and leather  What was I thinking? :O If you have any more questions ask away.

Sorry must have been typing to fast. I like your suit, it looks good! Well I probably will wear them on the road more than on the track, so it will need to be big enough for a sweatshirt and long underwear, and comfortable for the long trips. But how cool are you on the hot days? And how does it hold up in the weather (rain). And my wife thinks the leathers look good with the bike. :idunno: I belong to a M/C, do they make logo's and graphics there or do you have to get them done yourself? I have more questions I just can't think of them right now at 4 am!!

I have a Tiger angel jacket and I'm 100% happy with the quality and the service I received from the staff there.
When I purchased my jacket I actually went in and got measured by their staff, when the jacket arrived it fitted perfectly, but after riding for a while, I felt the right arm was too tight.
I took the jacket back to them, they re measured me and the jacket (everything was correct) apparantly I get forearm pump after riding for a while. they adjusted the jacket at no cost for me.

2 years later, the jacket looked a lot worse for wear after coming off my 929 (RIP), infact it looked like it needed to be thrown out, I rang them up and then sent them the jacket 5 days later it arrived back in the mail complete with new sleeves and a bit of leather color to touch up a few other areas, the jacket looks brand new again.

The quality of the leather held up very well in my slide down the road, it just tore the color pigment and ended up with nasty oil/asphalt/tar marks over the sleeves.

The jacket still almost looks new now and it 3 and half years later.

On hot days I'm OK as long as I'm moving. There are diagonal chest pockets and the linings are mesh so if you open them you get a nice thru breeze. In the rain they are like most leathers ie not waterproof so I carry a one-piece nylon condom in my tail. But Tiger Angel do make a set of waterproof leathers designed for touring and everyday stuff. Check out the Guardian suits on their site. They don't look racey and they don't take knee-pucks but they are waterproof and you can machine wash them which actually re-proofs them. :thumb: I've heard nothing but good about them.
Ratter's comments bear out my experiences with Tiger Angel. They seem to have that old fashioned ethic that if you do right by your customers they will keep coming back. :thumb:
One tip, if you go for made to measure don't measure yourself. Get someone you trust to measure you so that you will get leathers that fit the real you, not the man you'd like to be :crying: Either way TA will fix them but you'll have to freight them back to Oz if they need alteration. They'll freight them back.
Before anyone asks I don't work for Tiger Angel and they don't pay me. I'm just a happy customer. :)
Cheers

Forgot to mention that tiger angel do a lot of aussie racers leathers, they actually had a pair in the shop a racer (forget who it was) had to bail off a bike at the end of the main straight after a brake failure or sticking throttle :idunno: , they have lots of road rash but not worn through.

I graduated to that from the training wheels ;)

Actually, I've got a Ventura luggage system. When you aren't carrying the
luggage rack you can fit a pillion grab handle in the rack supports. It also
plugs up the nasty "cookie cutter" type tubes sticking up at the back of the
bike which scrutineers don't like at track days :nono: and its much easier
than removing the rack supports.

Re: Tiger Angle leathers

I have Tiger Angel leathers too. My jacket has survived a highside and my pants 2 lowside and a hi side - and both are still going strong - neithe rhave had any waork done on them yet, and they are both about 4 years old now. I find the pants a little constrictive aroudn the knees, but this may be coz I need to get it altered a touch. Otherwise, they really are great, and I'll probably buy from them again when I get my one piece leathers.,

They have always looked like great leathers when I've seen them, and the price is very right from the American perspective. I dropped the idea after their reps local to me dropped them -- for inconsistent build quality, slow delivery and poor after-sales service, as I recall...

But they are nice, that's for sure!

Mmmmmmm.....and that's coming from a U.S. rep? Wonder if I can find a U.S. rep for the midwest? Guess I'll have to do some more research. :hmm:

:hmm: the problems you mention don't gel with my experience of them. I've only bought the one suit from them so I don't have direct experience of the consistency of build quality but the build quality of mine is great and I didn't hear anything to suggest otherwise when I asked around pre-purchase.
The delivery from the time I ordered to arrival at my door was 1 month. That was for a custom made suit. Off the peg may be quicker. I guess you could probably add 5 or 6 days to that for international orders. I needed to get the jacket altered and that took 2 1/2 weeks from the time I sent it to its return. There were no quibbles and they were very helpful and friendly to deal with.
Maybe this would regarded as poor after sales in the US but not by me.

I have been using Tiger Angel leathers for a few years now and have been very satisfied with them.
My experience with customer service has been a very positive one.
There was a mistake made when ordering on my measurements,(not their fault) and they built a complete new set for me at no charge.

The first time I used them I broke them in by highsiding at speed at Buttonwillow raceway. They did tear at the hip a little and a small tear in the arm but I doubt any other leather would not have done the same given the speed and impact they sustained.
I had them repaired in the bay area by a gentleman who was affiliated with them as a warranty repair person for a small fee of $75

I would buy from them again if the exchange rate was favorable as it was when I purchased them!

Well that's good to hear (about the suit, sorry about your get off) I was wondering about any warranty work that could be done in the U.S. And with the comments I've heard about them from everyone (and I still want to read more) I've made up my mind to order a set, but that will have to wait till winter ($). How long did it take you to recive your order? Which ones did you get? My next goal is to finger out which style to choose.......... :idunno:

Very nice, that's the style I was leaning towards. Thought it would have to be red and black with a little of white (the wife said so, she wants it to match the bike!). Plus there's a place to put my name on the back (bladerider) and to put our club logo (if my friend ever get's it done!) or I'll have to see what tiger angel can do about putting a dragon type design on it or something. :idunno: And anybody have any pics of their suits they can post? I saw the one and it looks great but I want to see more (I'm greedy about shit like that) :p

As stated by some other members, this kind of service is definately not what most experience from Tiger Angel. I've bought jacket, and custom made pants, as well as having various other dealings with them. My mate has also bought a custom suit and it arrived perfect. They go the extra mile for alterations, if if they are the BUYERS fault, all above and beyond the normal customer service.

I can't reccomend them highly enough .......

except .....

those bloody knees! I dunno, the knees just need some work, they get sore about 4+ hours into a ride. Not too bad, but enough to piss you off after 3 days solid riding.
