Looking at new helmets for next season. Does anyone know how the Vemar size L compares to a Shoei Size L? No one local sells one so I can't try it on to test. I'm coming from a Shoei RF800.
Helmet harbor : "FIT: We've found that most riders will stay with their current size when switching to the VSR. We would describe the shell as more round than oval, but those with moderately oval heads also achieve a good fit."
Thanks, I have had problems in the past with helmets not fitting from one L to another....so I just bought a L and a XL and will sell off the one that doesn't fit. Better safe than sorry I guess, don't want to be pissed that I bought the wrong size and am now stuck with it.
A few months back I had tried on there VSR carbon fiber made helmet and had found that in at least my specific case, that there sizing ran a bit on the small side.
Yeah, thats what I heard. But one just sold on ebay for 400 today so I figured I could break even by selling off the 2nd one. I just have and odd size head, some helmets are XL, some are L. No Arai fits though. Was planning on getting a new helmet this year and spending 600 or so anyways. My shoei RF800 has seen 5 years of use and 40k miles, time to retire to spare status.
got both of the helmets yesterday, and as luck would have it NEITHER fit me. The XL was the better fit, but I think my head is too oval. I was getting a pressure point acorss the back of my head. Too bad, guess I'm going to be selling both now!
Damn that sucks. I know that when I had tried the before mentioned helmet in my above post, that I did not care for the fit of the helmet along the crown of my head. I have an Arai type of head I suppose. I have yet to find a better fitting helmet than what I currently own. Regardless of price.
