Yeah, but you could probably tow a Mack truck with it.Mattress said:Probably Rotax. If that was a multi cylinder, it'd be pretty awesome, that just seems like too much displacement for a two-stroke single, probably redlines at like 6000rpm. I'd like to see a supermotard with a 500cc two-stroke twin

Wonder who's making the motor for them? Rotax?
How about a 550cc 4-stroke twin?Mattress said:... I'd like to see a supermotard with a 500cc two-stroke twin
Don't let navydevildoc see that, he's lusting after one of those to go with his RSV.phobiaphobe said:How about a 550cc 4-stroke twin?
Looks like some nice cut and paste work to me.Baketech said:
Crap. I'm calling my man Matt tomorrow. The only Aprilia dealer in the state, I'll see if it's already spoken for.navydevildoc said:Ooooh yeah, the RXV/SXV are pretty bad ass. One problem... distribution in the US for 06 is so limited that less than one per dealer will be shipped here. Everyone that has ridden them has loved it, and the hype is getting so loud that I expect those few units to get snatched up very quickly.
These just prove again that the Italians know how to make a damn sexy piece of machinery, but need to learn a few things about supply chain management.
Rotax has allways supplied the engines for ATK other than a very short stint with honda. Last i heard maico was maico of the netherlands. Did germany buy the name back? I figured maico was history. I used to ride maicos a lot, i still own a 490 sandspider and have restored several. i'll have to post a pic of the 1974 AW model i restored in 95. I allways have been a big maico nut, i guess not any more if i didnt no maico was back in germany. I guess there is hope of a comeback from maico.Baketech said:The motor is made by Maico in Germany...that is not an official website... did you read the URL...
The engine on top does not look like any maico as a matter of fact it looks like a honda.I think there is somthing fishy about that pageBaketech said:
