Nah, what you really want is an '04 XR400...
Oh! you want power? How 'bout a CR500R? :eyebrows:ReaperAZ said:It's lack....of power.
Dano
Yeah, it's not meant for speed. Just good low-end torque for trail riding.johnnycrash said:I had an older friend who had to get rid of his XR400 because his 12 year old son was smoking him on his CR85.
XR's are great for their intended purpose - but they are lethargically slow.
Now THAT is the REAL DEAL. It will vibrate you to death, but nothing will outrun that in a drag race! :thumb:ConqSoft said:
That one is a modified CR500 engine in a CR250 frame though. Maybe that's why? :idunno:nedro said:My CR is as smooth as ice cream! What makes you think these will vibrate the hell out of you? It ain't no KTM or Rotax.
The engine and handle bar mounts have rubber bushings. If I ever got my hands on an AF it would sleep in my bed with me.ConqSoft said:That one is a modified CR500 engine in a CR250 frame though. Maybe that's why? :idunno:
Really? I have owned a couple of big-bore two smokes - an 83 CR480 and a 97 KX500. Both were brutally fast but I sure wouldn't call them smooth. At least the KX had a powervalve to soften the two stroke hit.nedro said:My CR is as smooth as ice cream! What makes you think these will vibrate the hell out of you? It ain't no KTM or Rotax.
SomeStrangeGuy said:Did you say YZ450? Oh no thats right - you don't want to lead because then the heat is on every single race to do it over and over again, no worries like that with that CRf![]()
hehehe...though not serious, unless you're a brand addict - something else to consider if looking used. The 04's are nice![]()
